Filling & Capping Instructions
Follow these steps to ensure consistent fills, proper seals, and zero leaks across all Finished Goods vape hardware.
Preparation
Follow your terpene supplier’s SOPs for mixing and handling concentrates.
Ensure your filling station is clean and free of debris.
Wear appropriate PPE, including gloves and eye protection.
Heating
WARNING: Never heat oil above 125°F (52°C). Exceeding this temperature can degrade cannabinoids and terpenes, and may cause leaking or tank deformation.
Heat oil to the lowest effective temperature for your formulation.
Use a temperature-controlled heating mantle or hot plate. Never use a microwave or open flame.
Monitor temperature continuously during the filling process.
Filling
Use an 18-gauge or smaller blunt-tip dispensing needle.
Insert the needle to the bottom of the tank and slowly withdraw as you fill.
Leave 1–2mm of headspace at the top of the tank to allow for oil expansion and proper capping.
For automated filling systems (Thompson Duke, DDS, ATG Pharma, Vape Jet), follow the machine manufacturer’s SOPs and consult Finished Goods for unit-specific settings.
Capping
Cap each unit within 2 minutes of filling to prevent oxidation and contamination.
For hand capping: press the mouthpiece firmly and evenly until it clicks or seats flush.
For machine capping: consult Finished Goods before using automated capping equipment. Pressure settings vary by unit, and incorrect pressure can damage the seal or tank.
Post-Fill Handling
Immediately after capping, store units upside down for a minimum of 1 hour. This allows the oil to fully saturate the atomizer wick.
After 1 hour, flip units right side up and let them rest for 2–3 days before testing or packaging.
Do not test fire units until the full rest period is complete. Firing before the wick is saturated can burn the atomizer.
Storage & Environment
Store filled units at 65–77°F (18–25°C) in a climate-controlled environment.
Avoid direct sunlight and temperature fluctuations.
In hot climates or warm warehouses, store units upside down to prevent oil from settling away from the atomizer.
Documentation & Quality Control
Log oil temperature, PSI (if applicable), fill time, and any deviations from standard procedures for every batch.
Record lot numbers, operator initials, and equipment used.
Maintain batch records for traceability and compliance.
Testing New Formulations
When filling with a new oil formulation for the first time, always run a small test batch (10–25 units).
Allow the full 2–3 day rest period before evaluating performance.
Contact Finished Goods if you experience clogging, leaking, or inconsistent vapor. We can adjust the PrecisionFlow™ atomizer configuration for your specific oil.
